The F One Bandit has long been a favourite of ours and among our instructors. Initially released in 2008 after the Tribal and Tribal 2 kites (we had them too and they were great!), the early Bandits were power houses with not much refinement, long easily tangled bridles and lots of power. Over the years they’ve become much more streamlined, lighter, faster, more agile and far better all round kites. For a long time the Bandit has been the benchmark for all freeride kites and plenty of other big brands have looked to create a similar ‘one kite does all’ product, such as Duotone with their Evo.
F-one Bandit & Bandit S
In 2020 the Bandit and Bandit S were split to allow the S to be more aimed towards surf and the Bandit to be freeride and big air. We found the 2020 Bandit to be a bit higher performance than we have seen in previous years and it was a bit of a handful for beginners. The 2021 has been given better overall stability without losing the performance that the 2020 model had, so it’s become accessible to all again.
In early testing we’ve found it to be a great kite with a bit more low end power than before and tonnes of lift for jumps. It can still be used on a surfboard but the S excels in this department.
The colours has been simplified too with less choice but still very smart. We still think this is one of if not the best all round kite available!
The BANDIT 2021 is extremely pleasing to fly whilst having a sporty feeling. Its behaviour is direct and reactive as well as stable, smooth and homogenous. Very light to fly yet has a feedback incredibly direct. The kite consistently reacts to your demand, and you always know where it sits in the window. The turning of the BANDIT is quick and precise and remains totally controllable when depowered.
Specific size designs
The smaller sizes 7 to 10 m are configured for more overpowered winds and big air where you can play with those crazy kiteloops and tricks. The bigger sizes 11 to 14 m offer incredible control and freeride stability. Key to this new concept is the updated spider 4 or 5 points bridle set up, which is different to the classic 4 point bridles on the Bandit S. The new bridle helps keep the profile arc of the kite stable even in extreme overpowered conditions.
The larger sizes of the Bandit feature all the excellent characteristics of the smaller sizes, but the design profiles and arcs have been tweaked to offer even more low-end wind range and lightness.
The jumping potential of this year’s model is absolutely insane. Offering explosive vertical lift the kite has plenty of float to chuck in some boards off or old school moves. Loops are fast and you will always find the line tension and pull you’re looking for. Just pull on the bar and the BANDIT 2021 will generate power, fantastic kiteloops sensations and super smooth landings with no stalling. F-One has reached new levels of stability making riding comfortable and safe no matter the conditions. Also managed to get a way more homogenous experience from low to high wind range with each size of the range. It crosses over to disciplines like foiling and even wave riding super well. After spending countless hours testing and developing prototypes, F-One are proud to release the new and improved 2021 BANDIT.

Delta C-Shape
DELTA C-SHAPE is a patented design used by F-ONE on all kites for the past 12 years.
This shape was the result of a design research towards maximum optimization of the aerodynamic performances of the kite and of its depower. It gives the possibility to fit more canopy area in the middle sections to create more projected area. The C Shape makes sure the kite remains responsive and fluid.
DELTA C-SHAPE technology design offers unmatched stability and steering response when fully de-powered, with the possibility of connecting the front lines higher on the leading edge of the kite.
Reactor Valve
F-One’s fast double function valve uses the same inflate and deflate mechanism used by SUPs. The wide valve allows for high intake and easy deflating at the push of a button.

Kites with extended de-power ranges sustain more pressure across the canopy as they experience an increased frequency of use over a wider wind range.
Consequently F-ONE has developed a completely new structure for the Bandit, offering optimized durability with no additional weight gain. The FORCE FRAME is a solid Dacron structure consisting of the leading edge, the trailing edge and the struts. This high strength skeleton structure is then covered with lightweight Spy material in the least vulnerable areas.

TECHNOFORCE of TEIJIN is a high density Polyester fabric with a tear stopping structure using thin and high tension yarn.

F-One Linx Bar 2021
The only bar for BANDIT, BREEZE, FURTIVE & TRUST
The 2021 F-One LINX bar features a smaller diameter to make it comfier in your hands and reduce fatigue and, of course, for this 2021 F-One LINX edition, some great new added features offers the best connection to your kite.

The new lines are less elastic: they stretch 30% less than the previous ones, which makes kite steering more precise. Moreover, elongation through time is reduced which allows to ride with a kite always perfectly tuned. In addition, as the lines are stiffer it makes them easier to untangle whilst setting up the kite.
The Hub is now made of aluminium and the ClamCleat is hollowed, which allows to have lighter parts for an even more performing bar. Finally the central neoprene float colours as well as the release handle have been harmonised with the rest of the bar to create a neat 2021 Linx Bar.
The LINX bar is available in in two sizes: 52/45 and 45/38cm for the 4 lines bar, and 42/35 cm for the 5 lines bar dedicated to freestyle. New integrated floats on the rear line not only offer a cleaner look; they also house the mechanism to adjust the size of your bar too.
One Line Flag Out safety system
The One Line Flag Out safety system features this year and is now the standard for all F-ONE kites. Theres a high-quality corrosion proof Inox steel hub on the front lines that allows one line to slide. The first 6m of the front lines are larger in diameter for durability, and there is a stopper to prevent the bar from travelling too far away from you when the safety is engaged.
Swivels
Manual swivel on top of the chicken loop uses a high-quality ball bearing and is easy to rotate system even when powered. This allows you to untwist your front lines after performing rotational tricks.
The Lifeline safety connection has an added swivel, so there is no danger of twists affecting the release of the kite, and the same goes for the leash too. The safety can be set up in suicide mode for freestyle riders while still retaining full functionality when the chicken loop is released as the loop can slide through the Lifeline safety connection with ease.
Short or long V split
There is a new Inox steel ring on the front lines; riders can choose to run the front lines through this ring to give the kite a short V on the front lines. Or you can run the lines outside of this ring to have a full front V. Kites like the Furtive perform better with the full front V, while the Bandit flies better with the short V. This feature of the bar means you only need one kite bar regardless of your quiver of kites.
This bar also comes with a wide chicken loop to make hooking in and out easy.
