The most substantial change to the light team construction, is that we no longer use a full bamboo sandwich. The cork shock absorber, which used to be concealed under the bamboo sandwich, is now clearly visible under the deck skin and allows the deck to flex and absorb shock like a custom PU board with minimal to no heel denting, thanks to the underlying reinforcements and the remarkable memory properties of cork. Pure surf board feel in an ultra light but durable construction!

THE VOLT SLS IS A SMALL WAVE AND LIGHT WIND BOARD DESIGNED TO GET YOU OUT ON THE WATER HAVING FUN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IT IS ALSO OUR FIRST SURFBOARD IN THE CONCEPT BLUE RANGE WHICH IS ANOTHER STEP ALONG OUR JOURNEY TO BECOMING EVEN MORE SUSTAINABLE.
Made in Italy, the Volt SLS is our first Concept Blue surfboard; the goal was to reduce the impact of the board on the planet and the oceans we enjoy. A Zero Impact Core, Bio Resin, Cork Stringers and Basalt Fibre are used instead of more traditional materials. Basalt replaces glass & carbon. This new material is both natural and plentiful, coming from volcanic rock, but it nevertheless offers very similar characteristics like carbon. It is incredibly strong and gives you a very responsive and lively ride. Wrapped around our Zero Impact Core is the Innegra Shield, which is incredibly durable and will ensure the board lasts a long time; this board also features our Cork Shock Absorber 2.0.
On the water, the Volt SLS has a fast rocker line, perfect for getting going in light winds and ideal for offering lots of drive and speed on the wave. Perfect for smaller waves, the rail design allows it to perform tight vertical snaps while ensuring you have lots of grip through more drawn-out bottom turns. Incredibly fun to ride when the conditions aren’t playing ball, the Volt SLS Concept Blue is the first in what will become a much bigger lineup of eco-friendly surfboards from Duotone.
BASALT FIBRE
Basalt fibre comes from volcanic rock, Basalt is a plentiful resource. The Fibre has a low global warming potential as it is a natural fibre. This element of our Concept Blue program replaces carbon as well as glass fibre as a material. Basalt has similar mechanical properties but a significantly smaller impact on the environment.
ZERO IMPACT CORE
The Second Concept Blue feature is our Zero Impact Core; which partly uses recycled EPS thus giving waste a new live. This decreases the impact on the environment.
SMALL WAVE SURFBOARD
Designed to maximise the fun when the surf is small. The board carries plenty of speed and power even with little power from the kite.

Innegra is the reason for the predictable feel of a polyurethane surfboard, combined with liveliness, durability, dent resistance and incredible light weight. The weight reduction was achieved by replacing fiberglass with Innegra.
Cork offers excellent absorption characteristics and reforms entirely without leaving any visible dents in contrast to PVC. Therefore, it is applied as a damper in the heel area of the surfboards.

Using bamboo in our surf boards, we take full advantage of the dynamic qualities of this natural product. Optimized layers and the mix with composite materials help us to construct powerful, agile and versatile surf boards that come with a unique flex – responsive flex!
We are using a more labor intensive, multi-step vacuum bag process. This yields a super strong, lightweight board with a custom, hand sanded finish. The most substantial change to the light team construction, is that we no longer use a full bamboo sandwich. The cork shock absorber, which used to be concealed under the bamboo sandwich, is now clearly visible under the deck skin and allows the deck to flex and absorb shock like a custom PU board with minimal to no heel denting, thanks to the underlying reinforcements and the remarkable memory properties of cork. Pure surf board feel in an ultra light but durable construction!
All boards now come with our own Futures Fins compatible fin boxes. Two side set screws and no rear tab allow for a wider tolerance of fin fitting and ensure a perfect and tight fit every time whether you’re using our high quality composite fins or any stock after market Futures brand fin. Easy to install and uninstall even with Sand and Salt.
Depending on your preferences, the Pro Session can optional be used as Thruster or Quad fin set up.

The Duotone Evo was our most popular kite every year and it’s been improved on once again. Following on from the designs of the Duotone Dice, the Evo now has a completely pulley free bridle for ultimate feedback from the kite and better predictability.
The fixed bridle has led to a more compact leading edge design which allows it to harness more energy for higher jumps but it’s more noticeable during kiteloops as the kite doesn’t deform or twist at all. This really is a complete game changer.
We were so pleasantly surprised in testing; the kite climbs out of loops even when underpowered, it’s fast, responsive and drifts well on the waves. There are very few kites that can claim to be at the top of their game across all disciplines, but this is one of them.
Along with the rest of the Duotone 2023 range, the Evo has a re-sculptured the trailing edge and changed the material. The lighter weight material is now not only tighter so it flutters less, but much lighter, so trailing edge has a lot less wear which is usually the most worn part of the kite. We can’t believe it’s taken kite manufacturers almost 20 years to solve this problem, but it looks like they finally have!
The kite has 3 settings on the steering line attachments at the kite to cover all the disciplines and these really are worth playing with as they completely change the way the kite feels and performs.

All new for 2023, the Duotone board design team have reworked one of the most popular freeride boards on the planet to make it even better!
Perfect for riders looking to cruise and boost, the Select offers plenty of comfort on the water – With a turn of pace and performance that will excite you. The outline has been made narrower and longer this year; further improving the handling when carving from rail to rail and allows you to hold an edge with ease, and the upwind capabilities are even better.
Space Flex ensures the flex is finely tuned to give you a smooth ride and offer excellent pop. The bigger Space Flex window in the tips also adds even more damping, making the board feel like it has suspension without sacrificing performance. The Select is also excellent in light winds and quick to get on plane, offering you plenty of power and performance when you need it.
The new shape means you need to choose a slightly longer board to get the improved performance and choos the size using the width as a guage… For example, if you rode a 138 x 41cm last year, you’d prefer a 141 x 41 this year.
