We use the Peter Lynn Impulse Trainer (TR) – used kite in the school for our 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3m kites as it is really fun and easy to fly. Very stable and has a tough, high quality build. Plus it has the third line for super easy re-launch and self landing. This is our recommendation if you are looking for a 1.5, 2, 2.5 or 3m kite to be used on a bar. Please note that the 3m kites come with a larger upgraded bar with heavier duty lines (we’ve added these)

If you look closely at the canopy attached to the leading edge, you will see multiple triangular shaped panels. These multiple triangular shaped panels called TriFlow, create a smooth and clean transition between leading edge and canopy. ADJUSTABLE BAR PRESSURE

Most PLKB kites come with adjustable back line settings to adjust the bar feel of the kite. Moving the bridle attachment point back towards the trailing edge will make the steering pressure lighter but will require more movement of the bar. Changing the settings is super easy, just detach the back bridle line and reattach it to your preferred setting to have more or less bar pressure and steering movement. This is a personal decision based on your riding style and experience.

ADJUSTABLE PIGTAIL POSITION

By moving the pigtail over the back bridle lines away from the kite, you can compensate for front line stretching. Or, by moving the pigtail over the back bridle lines towards the kite, you can compensate for a less responsive kite. This is why our kites are equipped with 4 pre-set attachment points on the back bridle lines. This will make sure you always have the same feeling even when the kite gets older.

LASER TECH

Because the canopy is being cut using computer controlled lasers, the profile of the Escape V8 has become super smooth, limiting all wrinkles from forming in the canopy. This makes the kite more efficient and improves the Escape’s flight characteristics. The V8ā€™s flight behaviour has also become more stable, direct and responsive than before.

Improved speed and acceleration

The longer waterline finishes right at the tail of the board. The additional tail volume creates more stability under your back foot, making it easier to step straight into your straps as you get up on the board.

Deeper recessed single concave deck

The recessed deck results in most of the boardā€™s volume being shifted out toward the rails, in turn providing greater balance and stability on takeoffs and touchdown.

Repositioned Free-V and Free Foil Strap Inserts

In addition to the centreline and V-strap inserts, weā€™ve introduced a new offline strap insert option for more ergonomic goofy or natural riding. The rear strap inserts have also been moved back for a wider stance, more comfort and stability. (Straps sold separately)

Steeper bevelled rails

The steeper rails add more volume to the outside edge of the board, adding again to the stability and making it easier to stand on and get going

Touchdown recovery

The V-shape in the bottom contour of the board breaks the water surface on touch down, so the board dives in gently and releases quickly, without sticking. The V also helps to funnel air under the board, which helps it to release faster.

Hybrid Carbon Technology

A light yet durable epoxy composite laminate, with a balanced carbon and e-glass fibre layup is wrapped around an EPS core. High-density closed cell PVC reinforcement around the foil track mount, leash plug and foot strap inserts spreads the load. An ultra-lightweight double bamboo reinforcement layer under the standing area adds greater impact resistance and rigidity.

Integrated PVC structural stringer system

Two high-density PVC stringers are glued to each side of this block, distributing the load lengthwise, and the full system connects the top and bottom laminate skins for maximum support.

DropBox Fast Foil Mounting Track

Our unique structurally-integrated DropBox has a longer track for a wider adjustment range, allowing you to precision-tune the foil set up for your rider weight. A measurement guide next to the track aids correct positioning. Industry-standard 90mm track spacing means the Seek is compatible with most foil systems.
