The North Pulse 2021 flies forward quickly when checking a rail edge, for unmatched freestyle progression. The dynamic edge response is achieved by a combination of a higher aspect ratio, smaller leading edge diameter and faster flying aerodynamic profiles.

2-STAGE ARC DESIGN

The 2-stage arc design enables a smooth curved efficient central region of the kite to produce power, with straighter wing tips for a more dynamic steering response. A wide-span, flattened arc kite like the Orbit makes the most use of its projected area, for greater efficiency, power, hangtime and drive. As the arc shape becomes narrower the kite uses less of its area, giving it a smaller turning radius for tighter turns, and less pull/power in turns. A narrower span kite such as the Carve is fast in flight, with less power overall.

REINFORCED DACRON EXO-SKELETON

A durable frame around the perimeter of the kite made from stretch-resistant Techno Force 160gsm Dacron material. It adds durability, strength and elongation control, protecting the lighter inner main canopy body and making the kite more responsive in the steering and depower. The result is a durable kite that can hold its profile for increased performance and lift, but is also dynamic, flexible and can twist to turn.

NO-PULLEY, LOW DRAG BRIDLES

High quality spliced, pre-stretched bridle lines are pre-loaded and measured before cutting to improve accuracy and consistency. This results in reduced shrinkage, reduced elongation and improved longevity. Removing ALL pulleys from the bridle improves safety and gives the kite direct and precise handling. The end result is lower drag, more accuracy and a more direct feeling.

RRD is today the ONLY brand in the market to use hi density Moulded EPS cores on kitesurfboards.
The new PRO line comes straight from the ultimate moulded surfboards technology which consists of a high definition EPS core, made with a high definition “Super EPS“ mould, which is then injected with 36 Kgs/m3 density EPS beads. Using the EPS injection, through the use of steam with the right temperature and pressure to blow the polystyrene into the mold, the result is a perfect mono-block core 40% more resistant, compact and with perfect surface definition (no open cutout bits are showing on the outside) compared to a classic CNC shaped surf board core. The parabolic carbon rails create a board that has a progressive smooth flex and a strong shape memory. All this not only create an unbeatable technology mix abut also a very stylish, classy and slick look.

LTE TECHNOLOGY

LIGHT, STRONG and DURABLE
The new LTE technology looks like simple but is one of the most sophisticated and innovative method of construction, it comes straight from the ultimate molded surfboards technology like the PRO technology. Consisting of a high definition EPS core, made with a EPS injection on a pre shaped mold, which is then injected with 36 Kgs/m3 density beads. This phenomenal core is so strong that you could ride it on the water without any lamination on it! The Full Glass and wood layup makes the board super flexible to ride and really strong to impacts.
The painted matt finish provide resistance to ultraviolet degradation and an easy to repair surface.

The coveted RRD Salerosa V4 is here with a splash of some bold new colours and updated construction.

The Salerosa was developed over the years for onshore conditions but from the V2 onwards, RRD moved it one step forward as a pure, all-round ripper from knee high to triple overhead waves.

 

This board has a quad fin set up and was developed by Abel Lago. The quad fins make the V4 go fast down the line, gives it a tight grip on the wave, and makes it incredibly manoeuvrable. Combine this with a similar rocker of the Maquina, but using slightly more tail kick, and finished off with a squared-swallow tail; the result is a magnificent board that can dig deep, pivot on a dime, and break the fins loose off the lip for some legit kitesurfing!

RRD Salerosa V4 surfboard Technology

Classic construction

The Classic PU construction has been developed to create pure surfboards for pure wave riding and to allow control over choppy waters. We have improved the weight and strength of the boards this year. We are now using a H1–volume lightweight pigment in the resin. This type of resin fills up the holes in the foam and reduces the amount of resin content in the glass fibers, making the boards lighter. The Classic boards have low fiber memory and low foam memory at the same time. This low memory gives our boards a proper surfboard feel. We recommend the Classic PU technology to the riders who love a comfortable ride which this construction provides through its flexibility.

 

Ltd Carbon construction

The LTD construction was introduced two years ago on our surf and SUP board range. Built with a lightweight technology that allows flex, control, and scoop-rocker line accuracy. The surfboard is built with a CNC EPS core of 20 kgs/m3 density, then laminated with 200 grms biaxial glass fibers and finished with a 55 grams carbon net over a bamboo stepping deck vacuum glued onto the board at 90 compared to the stringer length so as to avoid excessive stiffness onto the board flex.

So this construction is slightly lighter than the Classic PU RRD Salerosa V4,  about 300-400 grams, but the difference is not as much the weight, but it is stronger and has the EPS foam core. The EPS core makes the board more buoyant because the foam retains more air. The boards in the LTD construction feel alive! Not only because of their light weight, but mainly due to the added floatation. These boards were created specifically to ride strapless and are ideal for strapless freestyle. They are meant for riders that want a lightweight board that can also be controlled at high speeds.

Playful yet powerful, the North Astra 2023 is a bold all-terrain addition to our freeride quiver, delivering out-of-this-world performance to lighter riders. Often lighter-weight riders find it harder to control large, stiff boards designed for heavyweights. With this in mind, we set out to create a board with more responsive flex for riders with a smaller build – one that would deliver increased control in a range of conditions, greater comfort and softer landings, without sacrificing performance.
Astra’s smaller board length, narrower stance and basalt technology construction provides riders of all levels just the right amount of flex for controlled edging, boosts and loops. Its consistent, dependable rail grip gives you extra confidence to push boundaries as you load up for massive jumps. With its super-efficient bottom shape and rocker, the board feels fast through the water and flies upwind. Narrower stance

More precise foot positioning enables smaller riders to remain in control across every manoeuvre and landing. The Astra has a 20mm narrower stance in all sizes compared to the Atmos.

Hybrid basalt construction

We’ve orientated the e-glass and unidirectional basalt tapes in the laminate layup to optimise the loading of the individual fibres, resulting in a unique construction method with superior performance. Made from natural molten volcanic rocks, basalt fibre provides a lightweight structural reinforcement that is stronger and more responsive than e-glass. The basalt UD tapes contribute to a board’s lively feel and lower weight, delivering more pop without adding an unnecessary amount of stiffness.

Dynamic flex

Core thickness variations and taper, as well as detailing, longitudinally and laterally, play the most significant role in controlling the overall flex and feel. Board specific laminate layups then allow us to further fine tune the flex and board characteristics. We adjust the stiffness lengthwise and torsionally in conjunction with the rocker line, plan shape view and profile of the board, to give each board its specific performance characteristics.

3-STRUT HYBRID SLE

The balanced Hybrid SLE shape of the Gambit is design to be stiff, stable and lightweight creating precise and responsive handling with a consistent power delivery. Its lightweight 3 strut frame offers maximum stability and improving its wind range. The Open-C shape gives the Gambit a freestyle component with consistent steering while the relative low Aspect Ratio gives the Gambit a super speedy water relaunch.

 

HIGH DEPOWER BRIDLE SYSTEM

The Gambit has a single Pulley high depower fork bridle. The Leading Edge is supported by 4 bridle
with a V shape creating more depower abilities, lighter steering and better gust handling, keeping a ride.

DOUBLE STITCHED MULTI SEGMENT LEADING EDGE

Multiple reinforcements improve the durability. The leading edge and struts are built with the most durable Dacron. The leading edge has been reinforced along the entire seam to protect it from getting damaged when crashing or getting a pounding in the waves. This makes it hands down one of the toughest kites on the market. Kevlar reinforcements on the strut ends protect against friction wear.

KOOK PROOF

The front and back line connections have been colour coded to allow you to easily and quickly set up the kite. You will immediately notice if they haven’t correctly set up front and back line connections. The bridle loops are colour coded and ‘knot to loop’ to help kiters get their kite in the air safely.

FIT ALL VALVE

All our kites are equipped with a ‘fit-all-valve’ for easy inflation. The bayonet fitting fits all pumps and the large valve opening makes inflation a breeze. You won’t have to spend hours and hours pumping your kites anymore. You will be able to ride in the perfect wind in no time.

Most PLKB kites come with adjustable back line settings to adjust the bar feel of the kite. Moving th
towards the trailing edge will make the steering pressure lighter but will require more movement o
is super easy, just detach the back bridle line and reattach it to your preferred setting to have more
steering movement. This is a personal decision based on your riding style and experience.

The Havoc is aimed a freeride and big air riding however with it’s deep rocker line and channels would be great for anyone wanting to get into these freestyle kitesurfing as well as giving a really smooth ride over chop and excellent grip through carves.

Stryder kiteboards was founded by Nik Strydom back in 2o1o.  Nik brings his vast amount of engineering knowledge forward and puts this into his kiteboards along with his understanding of strong winds and big jumps from growing up in South Africa.

Taking a look into some of the key features, we see it boasts four channeled tips going to an elliptical concave in the centre with the rail channels running the length of the board for optimum grip. The deep rocker line makes for a smooth ride even in the choppy waters and helping with smooth landings.

This is all finished off in true British quality with a two part wood core, liquid filled PU rails and a tough PBT base.

The pads have a toe bar to help you really grip on and the adjustable strap makes it fit a wide range of sizes.
