PULL PULL
The pull-pull system makes use of two color-coded toggles for power trimming. This system gives the exact amount of depower and power needed for Airush kites. Pull on the red toggle for less power, and pull on the blue toggle for more power.

Our thoughts on the Duotone Dice 2021…
The Dice is one of the newer kites in the Duotone range and it has changed slightly through the years to become a much more refined product. It’s been tweaked and improved, the pulleys have been removed and it’s much more supported through the leading edge now so there aren’t any issues when heavier riders use it or during strong gusty winds.
The kite is aimed at more advanced riders but it’s actually very user friendly and could be put in the hands of a complete beginner without any safety concerns at all. It’s stable, forgiving, easy to relaunch and has tonnes and tonnes of depower, but none of it at the expense of losing any performance.
The Duotone Dice 2021 is slightly more C shaped than the Duotone Evo, Neo or Rebel so it doesn’t have as powerful low end performance but it is the most responsive kite for the same reason and really performs well in the turns, kite loops and for boosting. It’s slightly more technical to go really high with than the Rebel or Evo but when you get it right, it’s really rewarding and you’ll hit the clouds.
Give this kite some decent wind and it really does boost to the moon. We had the pleasure of using this kite throughout the UK winter (which was a windy one!) and it blew us away with how much lift it has. If you find a ramp and get a good take off, you’ll be looking down thinking everything looks very small below you!
This is the most ridden kite among our local pro riders & the Duotone Groms on our local beaches.
Overall, it’s a very fun kite to use. Quick turning, fast through the sky, responsive through the bar and with great feedback – what’s not to like. It’s aimed at riders who want more from a kite than just jumping up and down (like the Duotone Rebel, Core XR, North Orbit, etc:), the Duotone Dice can do that but a whole lot more as well.

The new Dice has been designed by Ralf Grösel with the influence of Aaron Hadlow and Lasse Walker. The goal was to make a kite that would compete at the very top level of the King Of The Air, offering huge jumps and powerful loops. At the same time, the team wanted it to perform for unhooked tricks too, making it a really versatile performer.
This year the weight of the kite has been reduced to improve the flying characteristics, and the bridle has been tuned a lot with the pulley less design offering a very precise feel. These design changes for 2021 combine modern materials with an absolutely solid frame construction. This helps the kite to react very precise and responsive, yet being superstable in gusty or high wind conditions. Aaron and Lasse really wanted to maximise the jumping capabilities, and the fast turning nature makes it incredibly reactive and gives it an explosive launch off the water. By tuning the bridle and wingtips, the turning speed was increased while ensuring the loops are full power with plenty of sideways pull in the air.
For freestyle the Dice delivers a good amount of slack just after you pop. This allows you to throw the latest tricks with ease. The fast nature of the handling also lends the Dice well to wave riding, and the reduced weight improves the drifting capabilities. If you want a really high-performance all-round kite, then the Dice is the choice for you.

SELF RESCUE HANDLES

Our thouhts on the Duotone Dice SLS 2022
We were impressed how the technology in the Duotone Evo SLS changed the characteristics of the kite compared to the standard model last year and the Dice has done the same again but in a more extreme way this time around. The Duotone Dice SLS 2022 is a different animal. Duotone have brought a kite to the market that is aggressive and a highly posed and effective performance machine. But, it’s still forgiving and the wind range is massive. In the smaller sizes (10m or smaller) and high winds this kite is an absolute weapon, it tears you off the water like no other hybrid kite available.
What the Duotone Dice SLS losses in hangtime compared to a truly flat kite, it gains in responsiveness and agility. We’d take this over a slow, boring booster. This kite will put a smile on anyone’s face from intermediate level upwards!
