F-One Linx Bar 2023 PRESENTATION

The bar itself is small in diameter with a comfortable grip making it forgiving on the hands. The grip has a rubbery feel with a fine texture and feels firm underneath and a bit more cushy on the top where your fingers wrap around the bar.

The integrated floats at the bar ends house the mechanism to adjust the size of your bar. Simply pull down the tag under the bar, rotate the insert and your bar size is changed. You will also find the possibility to adjust your back lines length.

It features a lifeline now placed into a new rectangular depower sheath for more durability. This new feature prevents the centerline from rubbing against the aluminium tube and will not rub against the user’s fingers.

The above the bar stainless steal cleat to adjust the power has been updated for more simplicity, and the depower system is now thinner and therefore more precise.

The F-One LINX bar 2023 offers the option to switch between a low and high V (high V for the BANDIT/BANDIT S/BULLIT and low V for the FURTIVE/BREEZE/ONE).

An additional float is placed above the depower system; this is to maintain positive buoyancy if you become disconnected from your bar.

The bar’s color-coding is very clear, with orange on the left and dark blue on the right.

The lines end in loops and are being attached to the bridles pigtails.

QUICK RELEASE

The quick release features a built-in manual swivel above the push to untwist your lines. The new minimalist below the bar lifeline swivel is now made of a plastic stud and a stainless steel ring on which you hang the leash. It rotates easily and automatically untwists your lifeline.

ONE LINE FLAG OUT SAFETY SYSTEM

The One Line Flag Out safety system features this year and is now the standard for all F-ONE kites. Theres a high-quality corrosion proof Inox steel hub on the front lines that allows one line to slide. The first 6m of the front lines are larger in diameter for durability, and there is a stopper to prevent the bar from travelling too far away from you when the safety is engaged.

This feature of the bar means you only need one kite bar regardless of your quiver of kites.

This bar also comes with a wide chicken loop to make hooking in and out easy.

What makes RRD Rigid Thread Lines different?

The ‘Rigid Thread Lines’ of RRD Kites will never be subject to adjustment, since they won’t even stretch under stress-related moves, for example by extreme loops or other radical manoeuvres, and consequently it is impossible to end up with stretched lines and/or of a different length and therefore the trim of the kite remains unchanged through the years.

‘Rigid Thread Lines’ will always be visually, technically and feeling compact and rigid throughout the course of their lives, maintaining all its physical and technical characteristics unaltered over the time.

The standard braided kite line has more stretch, which results in different line lengths, power absorption and reduction of performance, especially at the moment where you change the direction of the kite, where the load of the lines reaches its peaks.

Another weakness of the standard braided line that ‘Rigid Thread Lines’ have turned into a strength are unchanged compactness of the line.

Any new conventional line, has a rigid and compact character because of the resin (generally polyurethane-based) that encompasses it. This resin has a very short life and after only a few sessions, the touch of the product is softer.

This translates into a series of annoying consequences such as:

  • Softened lines are more subject to unwanted knots.
  • The protection of the line is reduced after each session.
  • Braid tends to open and it becomes more fragile. This allows the entry of water which will create small salt crystals inside in case you kite in salt water, which can impair the bearing structure of the line.

Why are RRD kite lines innovative?

Unlike standard braided lines, the unidirectional structure of ‘Rigid Thread Lines’ provides a fibre memory that is significantly more efficient. A standard braided line under stress combines all ‘dynamic elongation’ of the fibre and flattening of the braid, whereas the core unidirectional structure uses exclusively the elastic modules of the fibre.

DOUBLE STITCHED MULTI SEGMENT LEADING EDGE

Multiple reinforcements improve the durability. The leading edge and struts are built with the most durable Dacron. The leading edge has been reinforced along the entire seam to protect it from getting damaged when crashing or getting a pounding in the waves. This makes it hands down one of the toughest kites on the market. Kevlar reinforcements on the strut ends protect against friction wear.

FIT ALL VALVE

All our kites are equipped with a ‘fit-all-valve’ for easy inflation. The bayonet fitting fits all pumps and the large valve opening makes inflation a breeze. You won’t have to spend hours and hours pumping your kites anymore. You will be able to ride in the perfect wind in no time.

!NEW! TRIFLOW

If you look closely at the canopy attached to the leading edge, you will see multiple triangular shaped panels. These multiple triangular shaped panels called TriFlow, create a smooth and clean transition between leading edge and canopy. By using the TriFlow, the canopy attached to the Leading edge is now able to curve both sideways over the leading edge and from the leading edge to the trailing edge.
This creates extremely smooth surface and airflow over the canopy, resulting in more stability and a better overall performance. This makes it more stable when you depower the kite and totally want to focus on your ride, rather than your kite. Feel the Difference.

ADJUSTABLE BAR PRESSURE

Most PLKB kites come with adjustable back line settings to adjust the bar feel of the kite. Moving the bridle attachment point back towards the trailing edge will make the steering pressure lighter but will require more movement of the bar. Changing the settings is super easy, just detach the back bridle line and reattach it to your preferred setting to have more or less bar pressure and steering movement. This is a personal decision based on your riding style and experience.

ADJUSTABLE PIGTAIL POSITION

By moving the pigtail over the back bridle lines away from the kite, you can compensate for front line stretching. Or, by moving the pigtail over the back bridle lines towards the kite, you can compensate for a less responsive kite. This is why our kites are equipped with 4 pre-set attachment points on the back bridle lines. This will make sure you always have the same feeling even when the kite gets older.

LASER TECH

Because the canopy is being cut using computer controlled lasers, the profile of the Escape V8 has become super smooth, limiting all wrinkles from forming in the canopy. This makes the kite more efficient and improves the Escape’s flight characteristics. The V8’s flight behaviour has also become more stable, direct and responsive than before.

We started making wave specialist kites in 2004, with the introduction of our Type Wave. Since then, every year we have always developed a specific wave kite in our range. Riding waves requires proper timing, and a specific kite which helps you improve your ride. This is the key to get more stoked on the water. The RELIGION MKV is the end result of 11 years of non stop testing and development in the most diverse wave conditions in the world, with all rider levels. The first thing you’ll notice when you are using a Religion, is its quick turning and stabilty in the air. This is a feature that identifies, first hand, a basic concept of a good start for a real wave kite. The 3 Strut configuration has been introduced by us with the first Religion MKI and since then, it represents the key design base of any ideal wave kite. 3 struts means: lighter weight, stronger construction, faster turning kite.

The new RELIGION MKV also features an all new leading edge arch design: Basically a cutaway C-SHAPE arch design, with a short bridle. This new, compact leading edge design makes the kite even more stable and faster in the turn, creating an unbeatable combination of smooth profile, progressive power release and a very balanced, self adjusting behaviour in the air.

Its natural drifting ability and huge depower, make it the perfect kite to ride waves without moving the kite, and using the wave speed to ride in “perfect world “ conditions. In onshore conditions the turning speed, stability and superquick recall ability even when the side lines are not under tension make it an unbeatable wave machine, allowing you to ride waves anywhere, anytime.

A great direct bar feedback combined with ultimate turning speed, make the new Religion MKV a great kite for strapless freestyling, with great jumping ability and control while in the air. Every panel of the inflatable structure, from the struts to the leading edge, is built with a special heavy duty stitching system. The stitching areas are internally reinforced with a strip of adhesive dacron, creating a solid base for durability. All the exposed areas, like tip ends and leading edge seams that are subject to abrasion, are reinforced with a woven Kevlar/PU fabric to prevent wear. Our single pump inflating system tube is covered with a soft PVC protection to prevent possible damage from plastic parts while folding the kite, and the inflating tubes are fixed to the kite through a neoprene sock, locked into place with velcro.

The rear pigtail setting allows you to change to 3 different settings: medium power and turning speed as factory setting, a most power and quickest turning speed on the top setting and least power and slowest turning on the bottom setting.

Now you have no more excuses not go out and ride waves. But remember, before buying anything new, always make sure you find the time to compare your kite with the new one in the conditions you are used to riding.

Central to the concept of the Load Frame are the lightweight Ultra High Modulus yarns, of which each single yarn can carry 40kg. Think of them as a lightweight web with engineered energy absorption under load, similar to a spider web.

These yarns are integrated into the canopy through reinforced taping that allows them to elongate when under extreme load, absorbing most of the shock that traditionally would have run through the canopy. At the same time, they carry the primary load of the canopy, preventing stretch and increasing long-term performance.

Technoforce D2

This premium fabric is designed with a high-density structure using high tenacity double-coated polyester yarn in a double ripstop configuration. The double coating protects the yarn as much as possible from UV and abrasion damage. This ensures that the canopy remains as crisp and responsive for as long as possible.

Rear Line Adjustment

The Rear Line Adjustment featured on all Airush kites allows for quick changes in the kites bar pressure and response. Adjustment towards “High” will increase bar pressure and decrease turning speed. Moving back towards the rear of the wingtip will decrease bar pressure and increase turning speed.

Smaller kites have 3 Bar Pressure settings, Larger kites only have Medium and Low Bar Pressure options available.

V3.2 Bridle System

The V3.2 bridle system, now 10% shorter, contributes significantly to the turning speed and performance of supported leading edge kites. In addition, the total depower adds immensely to the safety benefits.

The all new Compass Bar has been redesigned with an all new Quick Release with easy Click Recovery. Many new features such as Ceramic Ball Bearings, Pre-Stretched SK75 lines, 3D grip, Replaceble Loops and with new looks, the Compass bar is all you need.

The Compass Bar LEI will replace the Navigator, Aviator and Magnet Bar. The bar comes in 2 versions; the LEI and FOIL version, but they are interchangeable. The LEI version comes with 22m lines, and is easy to be complemented with a 5th line and brake line to be used for the Lynx and Raw. The FOIL version comes with 18m lines and includes a brake line.

ISO 21853 Safety Standard for Quick Release Systems Certified

The PL Compass bar comes with the ISO standard 21853 certification. This certificate has been introduced in 2020 to standardise and safety check all quick release safety systems. It shows that the Quick Release has been tested and shall withstand a load of 3 times the maximum user weight of 120kg equal to 3600 N without any breakage and shall still function as intended.

One Hand-Recovery

The PLKB Compass bar has been designed to be as easy as possible. You can easily recover the opened Quick Release when laying in the water hanging on to your kite. With a simple click you can push the QR loop back and continue riding.

Ceramic Ball Bearing

The PLKB Compass bar comes with ceramic ball bearing swivel. This makes twisting the bar super smooth and keep your lines untwisted. The Ball Bearing its open so sand flushes out easily.

Twisting Safety Connector

To keep Safety Line in good condition it should not be twisted. Because the connector its placed behind the  ball bearing it unwinds automatically.

Easy Trimming – No more Tangles Lines

The Trimline and Clamcleat have been developed to create a perfect lock for easy power adjustment.  When your kite its depowered the grub handle can be locked to the side of the clamcleat with the Velcro Lock.

Dyneema SK75 425KG Lines 18m & 22m

The Compass bar has been made with only with highest quality SK75 lines. These lines can handle up to 425KG and are braid to perfection. Lines with Anti-Twist, Minimal Stretch and UV protected for maximum durability and safety. All lines are black with colour coded connectors for cook proof attachment. The power lines are split after 8m to prevent your bar from sliding all the way to the kite after pulling the safety.

ONE bar for all

The Compass bar has an option in the leader lines to add a brake line. This could convert the Compass LEI Control bar to be used for foil kites. Also a 5th line can be added to be used in the snow or for the 5-lines kites.

BAR DETAILS

The Airush Ride Bar 2022 has a new leash ring with an oversized connection hole and a new leash that has been greatly simplified to go along with this particular bar system.

Moving up from the IQR, the Ride bar features dual depower main lines with no PU covering. This has been chosen to allow a length of throw adjustment, without tools, using this industry-standard clam-cleat aero cleat fitting. The uncovered main lines also allow for very quick and cost-effective de power mainline replacements when required. These de power main lines go through a new centre fitting made of stainless steel with a much larger cut out for the lines to run through. This allows for much easier articulation and sheeting with these new bars. The Ride bar is a fixed length bar, available in two lengths: 50 centimeters and 60 centimeters.

The Ride bar features new EVA bar ends with a 20 increase in floatation. There’s also much more adjustment available for the rear line leaders under these new EVA bar ends.

The Airush Ride Bar 2022 also features a new, power bracket, which integrates not only the stopper or the front line and your landing line but also the pulley required for use with the cleat. And finally, there’s a new simplified pull system on the cleat to make this a very simple, very cost-effective solution for a bar.

Techno Force™ is a high density fabric with a tear stopping structure that is constructed with a high tensioning double polyester yarn. This material does not only add to the strength and longevity of our kites, but it also improves the stability and the flying characteristics without adding weight.

EXTERNAL SCUFF PROTECTORS

Additional reinforcements on all scuff points strengthened with branded, EVA reinforcements to extend the life and durability of the kite. This EVA is then encased in Insignia secured by a double stitch that adds to the durability of high stress points.

BRIDLE ANTI-TANGLE DEVICE

The C-Monsta Company History

After a decade of prioritising surf and travel I found myself in a position where it looked like a bit of settling might be happening. I had thought long and hard about where I wanted to live and had decided I wanted to go home. I love Scotland, my friends, my family and the waves – it has always felt like home for me.

My partner and I had our first child and as most people experience, my time became limited. I do not enjoy limitations or restrictions so set about gearing my life so that I could still surf as much as possible. With short, cold days and fickle, tide dependent surf spots I went in search of ways to get more waves and more enjoyment from the waves that I did get.

Wetsuit care was always annoying for me, I don’t know how many times I have been looking for my wetsuit only to find it dripping wet in the shower tray with the stinking boots lying somewhere nearby. Long story short I came up with the c-monsta wetsuit hanger. The unexpected outcome was that it made getting home and getting out the house far easier as well.

It is good to make the most of our time and to do what we love, with minimal harm to the planet. From those simple principles c-monsta has come into existence.
