FLEX STRUT EVO SLS

The counterpart to a stiff frame are the Flex Struts, between middle and tip struts. They ensure a direct and very reactive feel of SLS kites. The agility of a three-strut kite combined with the stiffness and the solid frame of a 5 strut kite. A softer material enables the Flex Struts to bend and twist in a defined way. Steering impulses are transformed smoothly and fast into turning actions.

PENTA TX

Penta TX, the guarantee for a sportier, more precise and crisper feel of the kite, achieved by 15% less overall weight and a five times higher tear resistance. It replaces Dacron and is showing 50% less elongation compared to standard Dacron. Penta TX is a quite stiff material, resulting in a high structural stiffness. Especially recognizable in strong wind conditions, leading to less deformation of the overall structure of the kite. Itā€™s responsible for a very precise timing when edging, releasing the edge and all steering impulses. ā€“ The precise and reliable steering of a racing car. We tested this kite when it was released and were hugely impressed by it’s flying characteristics. Some of the Neo models in the past have been rather sluggish in the turn and we found too grunty for a true park and surf wave kite. The 2023 Neo, both SLS and D/Lab have changed our perception of using a Duotone kite in the waves or hydrofoil. The D/lab especially has amazing drift, it will just sit there and hang when you ride towards it on the wave or when foiling. The turning speed and response has been significantly improved, the 2023 Neo is very intuitive, just touch the bar and it reacts, even when the kite is underpowered or with slack lines as you ride towards it. We also really enjoyed its improved efficiency and ability to fly forwards in the window. In the past the Neo used to just sit there and pull, we often found it used to pull you off the wave, not so with the 2023 D/Lab which still has the power on tap but if you want to dump it, head upwind or drift around when foiling, it will sit further forwards in the window and cut through the air…A magnificent kite which is now one of ur favourites for all round free riding, foiling and out in the waves.

Hybrid Flex Strut

The new Hybrid Flex Strut offers the kite its exceptional performance and leads to slightly smoother and more refined handling. The turning is faster and feels more dynamic. These features are controlled by the precisely tuned ratio of Penta TX and STW70 adjusted to each size. The percentage of flex material in the tip struts decreases as the size increases.

The Penta TX frame construction is the reason for a 5-times higher tear resistance, 50% less elongation compared to standard Dacron constructions and a 15% lighter overall construction compared to the Original Neo models, resulting in a great low end in combination with an incredible top end due to the solid frame construction.

Heavy Duty Leading Edge Closing Seam
The leading edges of all kites are extremely durable due to a special heavy duty closing seam. The Dacron material at the leading edge is reinforced with a self sticky Insignia Tape and double stitched additionally. The Heavy Duty Leading Edge Closing Seam is resistant to very high tensions and diagonal forces.

The BANDIT is even more stable in the air, no matter what the wind is doing. From freeride to kite foiling, Big Air or strapless, this kite can do it all and do it amazingly well. Its fantastic control and support allow you to ride at your highest level at any time, as it always translates gusts into forward pull.

For this 16thĀ edition, the R&D team worked intensively on making the entire profile amazingly sleek and implemented original staggered seams on both the leading and the trailing edge. The seamā€™s tension line is thus broken, which means the entire profile of the canopy is leveled when the kite is fully powered. We kept the fabricā€™s orientation towards tension as well.Ā 

On the back of the profile, we have reduced the overtensions thanks to the staggered seams. The two vertical panels have been changed to one, and on sizes 9mĀ² and smaller we developed a new TECHNOFORCE 66 panel. It is stronger and more resistant on elongation to offer a better control of the profile on smaller sizes for higher winds.

On sizes of 10mĀ² and above, we have kept the TECHNOFORCE 52 to guarantee lightness, as well as the two layers of TECHNOFORCE 52 canopy with staggered seams on the trailing edge.

This all leads to more efficiency. Overall, this perfectly even canopy profile brings a greater sense of stability without feeling disturbances or the bar movingĀ and leads to incredible performances in the high end.

The strutsā€™ reinforcements are now super sleek as well thanks to the Kevlar strip on the top. This improves the kiteā€™s steering and maneuverability, reduces the aerodynamic disturbances, and decreases the overall weight of the kite once wet.

Our original 5 points connections bridle and two pulleys help keep the arc stable even in overpowered conditions.

The new, CNC-shaped, anodized aluminum low friction ā€œpulleysā€ are super lightweight and increase the kiteā€™s reactivity. They also raise the bridleā€™s resistance to abrasion and its overall durability.

Consequently F-ONE has developed a completely new structure for the Bandit, offering optimized durability with no additional weight gain. TECHNOFORCE of TEIJIN is a high density Polyester fabric with a tear stopping structure using thin and high tension yarn.

SPIDER BRIDLE

We have worked on a bridal system for the new BANDIT 2021. The Spider bridle is a multi point of connection well dispatched along the leading edge which offers a better control of the arc of the kite during the flight. The stability in all wind conditions is very impressive and pushes the high wind range to incredible limits.

TEIJIN 130G DACRON RIPSTOP

We have built our kites for 20 years in the most state-of-the-art cloth from Teijinā€™s factory in Japan.
They have developed the best technologies and quality material for our kites over the years. Teijin has worked on a few major developments with the double Ripstop on the canopy cloth and durability treatments.

The kite industry was lacking choice of cloth density. We could build kites with a 52 gr per square meter for the canopy and about 160 gr for the leading edge, strut and reinforcements. Having only two choices was not easy because on some parts the 52 gr was too light and the 160 gr too heavy.
After developments and tests with Teijin we can now use a new Dacron 130 gr double Ripstop on our 2020 kites.

By using that new 130 gr cloth, we have saved weight while keeping an excellent strength. The new BANDIT 2021 is more reactive and of course feels lighter, which is particularly important for the bigger sizes, in the light wind or for the turning speed during kiteloops.
